Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown the meatballs on all sides for about 5–7 minutes.
- In the same skillet, sauté onion until translucent, then add garlic and tomato paste.
- Deglaze with red wine and simmer for 5 minutes, then add beef broth and return meatballs.
- Cover and braise the meatballs in gravy for about 30 minutes.
- Serve the meatballs with gravy over pasta, polenta, or bread.
