  • 1 small Onion Can use yellow or red onions.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Fresh minced is best.

  • to taste Pepper Essential seasoning.
For the Gravy
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil Add more if needed for moisture.
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste No direct substitute, but crushed tomatoes can work.
  • 1 cup Dry Red Wine Substitute with non-alcoholic wine or broth.
  • 2 cups Beef Broth Chicken broth can be a substitute.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown the meatballs on all sides for about 5–7 minutes.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté onion until translucent, then add garlic and tomato paste.
  6. Deglaze with red wine and simmer for 5 minutes, then add beef broth and return meatballs.
  7. Cover and braise the meatballs in gravy for about 30 minutes.
  8. Serve the meatballs with gravy over pasta, polenta, or bread.
